Life Skills Classes

JEMfriends recognizes that foster care does not give most youth the resources necessary to function well as an adult in society. JEMfriends’ life skills classes provide expert input and personalized advice for each of our youth as they work toward accomplishing their program plans and eventually toward responsible independence.  Classes include these topics and others:

  • Resume writing and building
  • Budgeting and money management
  • Health and nutrition
  • Social skills development
  • Homemaking

These classes are open only to youth in the JEMfriends Transition Program.  If you are interested in teaching a particular life skills class please go to the volunteer page and fill out and submit the volunteer application form, indicating your specific area of interest.
