Dear friends,

Upcoming Events:

  • January 28th – JEMfriends presentation at Roadways Ministries Church.
  • February 13th – Faith Impact Day (You can come to the Capital building to learn about local faith-based organizations making an impact in the Treasure Valley.)
  • March – Aging out Awareness Month in Idaho.
  • March 1 – Aging-out Awareness Day press conference on the Capital building’s steps.

We were all so blessed to enjoy a very merry Christmas at JEMfriends!  It was wonderful to enjoy having trees and lights in each of our homes; each of our youth received generous gifts from churches and other organizations in our community, which was a huge surprise and blessing to them; and we were again able to celebrate Christmas with the youth and their mentors through gift giving, games, and much laughter. We were so grateful for the oportunity for each of the youth to see the love of Jesus poured into them as we celebrated His coming.

We are so grateful to everyone who gave to make Christmas so enjoyable for the JEMyouth.  We specifically want to thank the Boise Metro Rotary Club for setting up Christmas trees that they gave and delivered to each of our homes along with gifts for all of the youth to open and enjoy. Thank you, Calvary Chapel Meridian and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church for sponsoring many gifts for each of the youth—what a special gift to receive things they had hoped for as well as a few surprises!  Thank you to Mary, Rebecca, Tina, and Louise at Northwest Christian Credit Union for sponsoring one of our girls’ homes by giving gifts.  And lastly, thank you David and Jaquline for hosting our 2017 JEMfriends Christmas Party at your home.  All of the support to make Christmas a memorable time for the youth was a wonderful success!

Donations:

JEMfriends operates three homes in the valley, providing housing for up to twelve youth. These homes are supported through your monthly partnerships. Currently, the rent and utilities of these three homes are 85% funded by monthly donations. You can help us reach 100% funding for these homes by joining us as a monthly partner today.

Thank you also to the many people who gave generously in 2017.  Because of your support in the last twelve months, we were able to open a boys home and a second girls home.  This growth allowed us to support three times as many youth as we were able to support before! We cannot thank you enough, and we are looking forward to continuing to increase the number of youth that we support and the impact we have in the Treasure Valley.
