JEMfriends is very committed to advancing the awareness of aging-out youth in our community. We participate in various awareness events with other businesses and community organizations. We also host our own events and present information at churches to spread awareness of aging-out youth and about JEMfriends’ programs. Our highlight event each year is our JEMfriends Annual Fundraiser Banquet, which provides a great opportunity to increase awareness and raise support for our programs.
In March 2016, through the efforts of JEMfriends, Idaho’s Governor declared March “Aging-out Awareness Month.” Each year since then, we have made our most concerted effort to raise awareness during the month of March. We team up with supporting businesses and organizations to put together awareness days and events throughout the entire month, raising support and awareness.
If you would like to volunteer to help at awareness events, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Naomi Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are interested in having JEMfriends speak at your church or organization, or if you are part of a business or organization that would like to partner with JEMfriends in raising support and awareness, please e-mail Liberty Thompson at email@example.com.
